Personal Experience & Biography
My pathway to becoming a therapist involves loss of loved ones, recovery, and opportunities to grow. Now, I am a licensed master social worker (LMSW). I completed my master’s degree in social work, magna cum laude, at the Graduate College of Social Work and bachelor’s, suma cum laude, from the College of Public Service.
As a therapist, I take a non-judgmental and inclusive approach to maintaining a safe therapeutic space and will maintain a strengths-based outlook. I use eclectic, holistic, and integrative approaches to therapy by utilizing traditional Psychotherapy [CBT, DBT, ACT] and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Focusing on those with Depression, Anxiety, and Substance Use concerns.
I often encourage connecting with nature, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, and EFT tapping. I truly believe in the power of re-experiencing and re-framing hurdles by understanding underlying motivations and root issues to healing. I’m also interested in how the unconscious mind interacts with consciousness and how trauma is stored in the physical body.
KAP is an innovative advancement in therapy that helps disrupt rigid patterns that the mind has consciously and subconsciously adopted; bring issues into clearer focus to be resolved, absolved, and dissolved all while rewiring the brain’s default mode.
A unique aspect of therapy with me is that I am passionate about providing care for those with dysregulated nervous systems. Living in fight, flight, or freeze for extended amounts of time impacts your nervous system and I prioritize this within therapy.
I am fascinated about the intersection that policy plays into the everyday human experience which led me to work in drug use research, organizing, advocacy, activism, and harm reduction outreach. I continue to consult with state universities and representatives to impact research and policy throughout Texas.
Given the opportunity, I hope to collaborate with you to develop strategies to recognize, identify, and dissolve unhealthy patterns to improve personal empowerment. I believe that once one is able to regulate their nervous system, they can begin disconnecting from ones primitive and instinctual thoughts and feelings to truly observe and explore inner turbulences, release fear, and trust the divine journey you are on.
